Hello everyone!
Welcome to my experimental art blog...
My name is Mateus, I just finished my art graduation in Brasília, Brazil. I was also a student at Brasilia's Music School where I, for five years, studied classical singing and piano.
I'm 26 years old now, but as y'all know...Time's a-running.
My first thought for this blog was to do an english version of my portuguese blog. In it I write mainly essays about art, theater specially, and advertise my own work.
Since there's no actual point in advertising something that you won't be able to attend to, I'll focus on posting my essays on theater and art. I'll also post an ocasional poem or two. But as my work starts to happen here in this art-not-caring-city (yes, I like to improvise on words)I'll be able to post the links of the recorded perfomances. That should do the trick. Or at least I hope so.
The blog...Funny! THE Blog...Sounded so oficial!...Carry on...This blog - better - is also my attempt to criate a discussion space where those who've seen my work come to comment freely on it. Be it by paying me compliments, by criticizing or just by saying what it made y'all feel.
Either ways, feel free to speak (or write) your mind!
I feel that the lack of such spaces prevents art, artists and audience to evolve as criators, as art consumers and as human beings, given that the exercise of discussion and the costume of standing up for your point of view becomes rarer and rarer.
So, even if the first way for us to (re)conquer that ability and wright is virtually, then so be it!
I'll try to keep up a steady pace with the translations of the already existing essays and texts, so y'all can share your mind with me, just as I'm beginning to do with you.
